6 must-have evergreen grasses for the border

Evergreen grasses are hugely popular and fashionable plants these days. They have always been one of Ladybrook Nursery’s favourites, so it’s now pleasing to see that these garden gems are starting to become must-have plants for the border. They’re popular for many reasons; not least of which is the vast array of leaf colours available, from gold and copper to rich red, and they also provide the garden with some of the most attractive seedheads. Evergreen grasses add graceful texture and shape and are the perfect foil to other flowering plants.

Two of Ladybrook Nursery’s favourite evergreen grasses are the Brizia and the Deschampsia. Briza Media is one of the early flowering grasses followed by Deschampsia which flowers later in the season. Both will flower throughout the summer and into autumn.
