Ladybrook Nursery supplies and plants for a stunning Oriental garden.

Ladybrook Nursery is proud to have supplied and planted two cloud-pruned ilex Crenata ‘Kinme’ Bonsai trees for this stunning garden. The first plant we supplied can be seen in the background: the latest tree sits proudly in the foreground.

The client, an internationally-acclaimed artist with an interest in Oriental landscape, asked Ladybrook Nursery to supply and plant two decorative trees 1.7 metres high with a distinct ‘Shape which were in keeping with, and sympathetic to, an oriental-themed planting scheme. We purposely chose the ilex Crenata ‘Kinme’, or Japanese holly, as we thought it matched the client’s brief perfectly.

The ilex Crenata ‘Kinme’ is a dense, spreading, evergreen shrub with small, ovate, glossy, dark green leaves and insignificant flowers in spring and summer, often followed by glossy, black fruit. It was sourced from Japan and then shipped to Italy to acclimatise. From there the plants were moved by truck to our nursery in Bramhall.

The client, we’re very pleased to say, was delighted with the plants and the resultant planting. He was even more pleased that we were able to supply and plant these stunning tress and yet still come in 25 per cent under budget.
